C’est à Rio de Janeiro, ville superbe où il est né, que Francisco découvre, adolescent, deux passions qui ne le lâcheront plus : l’escalade et la photographie. En 2002, il participe à sa première expérience en Big Wall, en tant que photographe. C’est le déclic : il quitte le monde du photo-journalisme pour réaliser des reportages et des projets dans l’univers de la montagne. Puis après 26 années passées à Rio de Janeiro, direction la France. Après des haltes à Paris et à Grenoble, puis un tour à vélo entre Alpes et provence pendant 6 mois, il s'installe dans les Hautes-Alpes. Avant de reprendre la route, en famille et dans un vieux camion James Cook cette fois-ci.
When he was a teenager, Francisco discovered in Rio de Janeiro, the wonderful city where he was born, two passions that he will never give up: climbing and photography. In 2002, he took part in his first expericence in Big Wall, as a photographer. That kicked it off: he left the realm of photo-journalism in order to do reports on mountainous world. After 26 years spent in Rio, it was time to go to France. He stopped for a while in Paris then in Grenoble, spent 6 months on a cycling tour between the Alpes and the Provence, and eventually settled in the Hautes-Alpes... before setting off again, with his family, and an old James Cook van.
Des études en STAPS (Sciences des Activités Physiques et Sportives) et en communication scientifique entamées à Tarbes, puis continuées à Toulouse, Montréal et Grenoble, Sandra a bougé dans le cadre de son cursus universitaire ! Pas question pour elle de se poser trop longtemps quelque part. Alors c'est avec un grand plaisir qu'une fois ses études finies, Sandra a pris la route avec Francisco et leurs deux enfants, Anna et Tomas. Elle est heureuse de pouvoir conjuguer une vie nomade et un travail de communication autour de l'escalade, elle qui a toujours aimé le sport.
By studying STAPS (sport sciences) and scientific communication in Tarbes, then in Toulouse, Montréal and Grenoble, Sandra kept moving around when she was at university! There was no question of staying in the same place for a long time. So, it was with great pleasure that, once she had finished her studies, she took to the road with Francisco and their 2 children, Anna and Tomas. She, who has always loved sport, is happy to be able to combine a nomadic life with her job reporting on rock climbing.
